“It’s an amazing opportunity for our singers to work with giants in the ballet world. We are so grateful to Edward Morgan and to Mr. Alexander for their interest in working with EVC’s singers” says Artistic Director Nicole Becker. “There are lot of synergies between us. Just as EVC believes every voice should be heard and can be developed with training, so they believe that everybody can move expressively, and our ability to express ourselves through movement should be cultivated. The fact that Edward Morgan Ballet is also committed to mobilizing art for causes of human rights and environmental justice makes us perfect partners. We are already eagerly planning future collaborations through which we can develop our shared interests in artistic self expression through the voice and the body”
Edward Morgan and Joseph Alexander (director of Edward Morgan Ballet) joined the Concert Choir for rehearsal on March 2, engaging our singers in dance as they began to envision our role in the production. See a glimpse from the day below. |
