The Every Voice Concert Choir - Carnegie Hall May 2017
Syrian composer Zaid Jabri has been commissioned by The Cecilia Chorus of New York to write a piece for adult choir, children's choir, and orchestra - and once again, they have chosen The Every Voice Concert Choir to be the children's choir. The piece is based on a Sufi text called, "The Religion of Love," and it will be the opening piece on a program with Brahms' Requiem. On a recent visit to New York, Mr. Jabri visited our rehearsals. He was inspired by the children and eager to begin writing for their voices. Needless to say, we are thrilled to be part of this collaboration.
