EVC Generations is an intergenerational choir made up of choir directors and voice teachers who, as graduate students in Music Education at Teachers College participated in Every Voice Choirs as interns, assistant directors, or directors - and their current students. Formed as EVC celebrates its tenth year in residence at TC, EVC Generations will make its debut at Carnegie Hall’s world-famous Stern Auditorium on December 11th, 2022, singing "Suscepit Israel" from J.S. Bach’s Magnificat in a concert presented by The Cecilia Chorus of New York with orchestra. The choir will be directed by EVC’s Artistic Director, Nicole Becker.

Auditions

‍Interested singers and directors, please visit the Generations Info Sheet for more information.Sign up to audition here.There are three options for auditions:

• Submit a video recording of yourself singing the first half of Suscepit Israel on your chosen part. Due Sunday October 23rd 6 pm
• Attend a Zoom teaching session and audition:
• ~Wednesday October 19th, 6-7:00 pm (students may make recordings afterwards or audition live at 7 pm)
• ~Thursday October 20th, 7-8 pm (students make recordings afterwards)
• ~Wednesday October 26, 6-7:30 pm live auditions at 7 pm.
• Attend an in-person teaching session and audition at Teachers College:
• ~Sunday, October 23rd at 6-7:30 pm​

‍Performance Day

‍All singers are called on Sunday, December 11th @ approximately 9:00 AM for a dress rehearsal  preceding the 2 PM performance. For more information about the concert, including tickets, click here.

‍Fee

‍This program has a sliding scale participation fee. Families will choose the amount they are able to pay (0-$250) at the time of registration, after their children are accepted into Generations.
